SNCDPC to Hold “April Pools Day” Media Event
Will Include Demonstration of Simulated Near Drowning and Rescue
Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death for children less than four years of age in Southern Nevada. On average, eight children drown each year in Southern Nevada. With warmer weather comes the use of swimming pools and the potential for water related accidents. To make the public aware of water safety and drowning prevention, the Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition (SNCDPC) will hold its third annual “April Pools Day” event on April 1. Speakers will provide safety tips during the event and a demonstration of a simulated drowning and rescue will also be performed.
